FC Sheriff announce Rashed Al-Tumi signing

Fotbal Club Sheriff Tiraspol announced the signing of Malta international goalkeeper Rashed Al-Tumi.

Sheriff Tiraspol, based in Tiraspol, a city located in the unrecognised breakaway state of Transnistria, that plays in the Moldovan Super Liga. They were founded in 1997 and quickly established themselves within Moldovan football.

Since then, “The Wasps” won 21 championship titles, 12 Cups, and seven Super Cups and reached reached the group stage of the UEFA Europa League six times. In 2021, Sheriff became the first ever Moldovan side to reach the group stages of the UEFA Champions League, where they would go on to notch a win against eventual champions Real Madrid before eventually bowing out of the competition.

A product of Valletta, Al-Tumi spent over five years in Italy where he played for ASD Katane Soccer, US Citta di Palermo, Virtus Casarano, Arzachena Academy and Nocerina before moving back to Malta to join Sliema Wanderers in January 2022.
